A 'rocket' was fired at the convoy he was traveling in the official company of his bodyguards. The attack left dead or wounded.
The attack occurred at 11 am when Gonzalez was traveling on Eighth Street and Avenue 18, after leaving his home, located in the Ipanema district.
"The caravan passed and the second felt the totazo" said the Mayor.
The explosive device was embedded in a three-story house and failed to give the Sky Humvee González Villa, apparently because the guerrillas lost his balance and misjudged the curve of the explosive to be detonated.
The failed attack caused no injuries but partially destroyed the house that was unoccupied. Technical
say anti-explosive device had the ability to penetrate the armor truck number five on the president who walks ITPOs.
"I tell the FARC that we have worked hard to Neiva, I have kept the city, so I say we work for peace in Colombia because the weapons can not achieve anything," added Gonzalez Villa. "
